Marvett Smith -

Marvett Smith returns to Utah Ice Volleyball for her fourth season.  Marvett's experience with volleyball began during her high school years where she played her favorite sport as well as basketball, and track.  She received an athletic scholarship for volleyball from Weber State University where she played from 1991-1996.  She began her career as a freshman in the starting line up as an outside hitter, and was eventually moved to middle blocker, and ended her career playing right side.  During her final year of collegiate competition, she was awarded the Weber State Female Athlete of the Year, as well as the Breathe Right National Comeback Athlete of the year for the nation after returning to volleyball following a near fatal accident.  Marvett has previous coaching experience with volleyball, basketball, and softball, and believes in teaching young athletes to gain a sound understanding of the fundamentals, to have fun, and most importantly to believe in themselves.  Marvett and her husband Jeff have been married for 18 years and have three children, CJ, Kaci and Cooper.  They spend many hours supporting their children at softball, volleyball, and baseball.  When they are away from the field/court, they can be found camping, fishing, riding horses, and spending every minute they can together.  Marvett has a Bachelor's Degree in Lifestyle Management and has worked at McKay-Dee Hospital for the last 17 years.  She is also an avid photographer who is accompanied almost everywhere by her camera.  She and her family currently reside in Farr West.

Holly Parrish -

Holly Parrish returns for her 5th season with Utah Ice Volleyball.  She has always had a passion for volleyball, and athletics. 
She grew up in Richfield, UT., where she played volleyball and competed in Track and Field for Richfield High School. Holly attended Utah State University, where she high jumped for their track team and got her degree in Human Resources.  While working at a girl’s camp in Maine she coached volleyball, as well as other sports.  Since then she has played volleyball on teams around the Ogden area, and with her friends and family any chance she gets.  Holly and her husband moved to Plain City 5 years ago, and have loved living in this community.  Holly is the mother of 4 and enjoys attending
all their sporting events and activities.  In her spare time she and her family love to ski, both in the snow and the water. They also enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, running, camping, and playing sports.   She loves working with children in a positive atmosphere, and is excited for the opportunity to see them fall in love with such an awesome sport.

Nikki & Don Morse -

Nikki and Don Morse have been involved in competitive athletics their entire lives.  They enjoy sports of all types including volleyball, basketball, golf, softball, baseball, tennis, racquetball and more.  Together they have spent the last eight years coaching volleyball at the junior high level.  Prior to starting their family Nikki was head volleyball and an assistant basketball coach at Fremont High School. Combined, they have over 20 years of experience coaching various sports at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.  Helping kids grow in their abilities, sportsmanship, drive and love for the game are their top priorities.


Melanie Cooper -

Melanie Cooper returns for her 8th season with Utah Ice Volleyball.  Melanie has a passion for playing and coaching volleyball.  She fell in love with the game when she was a young girl and still plays any chance she gets. She has a great talent with young athletes to help them grow and develop. She played school and competitive volleyball, basketball, softball and track.  After high school, she went on to play softball at Weber State University until she and her husband decided to start a family.

Melanie is the mother of three children, who all love to play volleyball as well.  She currently lives in Plain City and she and her husband Kelly coach and direct WolfPack baseball and Attack softball.  Melanie loves to play softball, golf and of course volleyball with her husband.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, being outdoors, sewing and watching her kids play sports!

Ty Harlan - Ty Harlan grew up playing football and basketball in Denver Colorado which earned him a football scholarship to Weber State University. He was an All-Conference Wide Receiver for the Wildcats and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Ty worked in the Ogden City School District for 7 years as a Case Manager for at risk students. After completing his Masters Degree in Counseling, he has worked as a School Counselor for the past 6 years.  Working in the school system has given Ty many opportunities to coach a variety of sports at different levels.  Ty has coached football and basketball throughout the past 10 years at the High School and Jr. High level.   Ty enjoys coaching and thrives in the athletic environment.  Ty is married to his college sweetheart and they have 3 children together and currently reside in Ogden.

Sydney Cornforth - 

Sydney Cornforth is a talented athlete from Tropic, Utah. She grew up in a family of 12 and graduated from Bryce Valley High School. In High School, she competed in both volleyball and basketball and received a varsity letter all four years.  She earned many awards each season including All-State Team Selection and various athletic honors.  Sydney was recruited to play at USU-Eastern for the Golden Eagles where she played Right Side and competed in the SWAC Conference.  In 2013, she was recruited to coach for Utah Ice Volleyball with our Power 15/16 group.  Sydney is a Psychology major and will be an excellent mentor to our college-bound athletes and a wonderful addition to the coaching staff at Utah Ice.
